What Each Plan Includes

Individual

Full Premium for one account: ad-free music and podcasts, downloads, any song in any order and lossless audio. It also includes 15 hours a month of listening from Spotify's audiobook subscriber catalog.

Student

Everything in Individual for about half the price, plus access to the Hulu (With Ads) plan in the US. You need to be enrolled at an eligible accredited college or university. Your status is verified when you sign up and again every 12 months, and you can keep the discount for up to four years.

Duo

Two separate Premium accounts for two people who live at the same address. Each person keeps their own library and recommendations, and you save $6.99 a month compared with two Individual plans. Audiobook hours go to the plan manager only.

Family

Up to six Premium accounts for family members at the same address. The plan manager gets parental controls, and members under 13 can use Premium too. With six people it works out to about $3.67 a person, the cheapest way to get Premium.

Which Plan Should You Pick?

  • Just you: Individual, or Student if you qualify.
  • You and a partner at home: Duo.
  • Three or more people at home: Family.
  • You also watch music videos: YouTube Premium includes YouTube Music. We compare prices in how much is YouTube Premium.

How to Cancel Spotify Premium

  1. Sign in at spotify.com/account in a browser.
  2. Select Manage your subscription.
  3. Choose Cancel Premium and confirm.

Premium keeps working until the end of the period you've paid for, then your account moves to the free plan. Your playlists and liked songs stay, but downloaded songs are removed.

How to Pay Less for Spotify Premium

  • Use the free trial. If you've never had Premium, Spotify usually offers the first month free, and longer promotions come up from time to time.
  • Go Student if you can. Same features as Individual for about half the price, plus Hulu in the US.
  • Share a Duo or Family plan. If you live together, the cost per person drops fast.
  • Check gift cards. Spotify gift cards often go on sale at retailers and can be redeemed at spotify.com/redeem.
  • In Türkiye? Spotify prices there are much lower, and if your account is based in Türkiye and has never had Premium, a 4-month Spotify Premium code activates on your own account.
